My friends and I have been in this house since July 26th through Aug the 2nd, 2001 and it was great. The room service was good, it was clean and higienic. The menu of the house is very good. We all felt very satisfied with the dinner we all had there, it was nice. So we sugget to our mexican friends and all the rest of the world, that if you are planning a trip to Havana, and you wish to stay in a private house, we recommend "La Orquidea". Booking: As whole , Ok, but the web site it should be more precise information about location, distances to the central area, taxi prices, etc. And also about what is included in the price and what is not.

In Europe the place should be called "Bed & Breakfast" and should be anounced like that.

Accommodation: The hosts are very kind and serviceminded and standards of the bedrooms and bathrooms are high, clean and tidy.

It's a pleasure to recommend the place to friends in Norway.

It was just an excellent place to stay, the service was great, the people there are very nice, it has all the conditions and the location is very good. This is a note to let the you know how happy I am that we stayed at your house (mansion La Orquídea). The people where fantastic. Rooms nice, very clean and well stocked with anything we needed. The entire trip we felt safe and at home. A 24 hour driver made getting around and learning about Cuba easy. It was very convenient getting our clothes washed as well. The best part was the awesome morning breakfast. We will see you again soon.

Cuba's private homes may not be for the business traveler who needs a full-service hotel all the time, but they are very pleasant and economical and they put you in the heart of a Cuban neighborhood.
